Things You'll Find on Southeast Asia

Image
Have you ever been to Southeast Asia? Have you ever stayed at a crappy hotel in a rundown district with bad smell and traffic jam everywhere? You might experience this at least once when you visit one of the Southeast Asia country. Whether you are in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, or others, there's usually similar problem following. Not what i had in mind...but it works anyway. But for you who desperately tried to impress your friends by telling them your adventure in a Third world country , you might stumble into some little thing you can't explain. Yet, you desperately need a word to describe them clearly, so people still can grasp the concept. Here is some stuff that I can think of and -in my opinion -is not common outside SEA . 1. Dutch-Wife Here's what you'll find in almost every household on countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand: A cute, giant tampon? You might know it as a bolster pillow, which purpose is for hugging. This thi...

Bandung:The Culinary Menu

Image
Once, I was on the road and got so hungry. So I pick a nice looking restaurant wishing for a good European food. I ended up with a menu on my hand, and an awkward smile on my face. The list only contain traditional Indonesian food, without so much option like french fries or even a milkshake. There are many Indonesian restaurant reviews on internet. But only few of them give us a full picture of what we're gonna get. We rarely find a menu shown or even the price list (for obvious reason). Here's a few menu I found that might help you pick your next meal on your trip in Bandung: * Suis Butcher - Jl. RE. Martadinata No. 201 Cihapit Bandung Wetan Bandung Jawa Barat, 40113, Indonesia - Jl. Setiabudi No.174  Bandung 40141 - Festival Citylink Bandung - Trans Studio Mall * Karnivor Jl. Riau No. 127 * My Little Kitchen (MYLK) Jl. Setiabudhi No. 206 Hegarmanah Cidadap Bandung Jawa Barat, Indonesia +62 22 2041191 *Abuba Steak Jalan Prabu Dimu...

My Console History (Part 2)

Image
Continuing from where I left 2 days ago, it is time to move to the next generation console. This next console is probably the longest console I've ever had. Along with the largest collection of games that I used to cover my walls with. N-Gage & the gang sign makes it rather unimpressive Yes, i don't own my old consoles anymore. Every time I bought a new one, my mom will give the old one to my cousins. She said it was for a good cause, since not many of them can afford toys, let alone a gaming system. Sure, i want to keep them, for nostalgic purpose, but then again, we live in an era where old system comes in a form of emulators. I guess it just feels symbolic to have the real console. At the end of Junior high, my parents bought the PS2 home. It was before I had the finals. They let me played it for one day before confiscated it and threaten to return it if I don't get a good grades at my finals. Long story short, I played this console until the s...

Pemilihan Modem Bagi Pemula

Image
Saya bukan anak IT. Sementara tidak semua orang tanggap teknologi, saya coba memberikan beberapa tips simple me...

My Console History (Part 1)

Image
I'm a gamer. I've always been. Born at 1987 i am clueless about gaming system such as Atari or Turbografx. Maybe it's because I've spent my childhood in a small town in Borneo where technology is hardly accessible. I even born on a small village in the middle of the woods. My father is a foreman in a local lumber mill and spent most of our early years living in the outskirt of the town. The first console i played was NES . I saw this while we were visiting a family in the town, and that's where my gaming life begins. We didn't come from a wealthy family, so I only had the chance to play this console on my cousin's or friend's house. And just like everyone else here on their late 20's, I've spent most of my childhood playing Mario Bros. or when i get bored, Battle City (Super Tank). Which i believed represent my country, since the insignia thing is similar to... you know... The first console that I really owned was Sega Mega Dr...
